ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A man was killed in a car crash on Interstate 70 early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. in O'Fallon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 28-year-old James Haines was killed when his car had mechanical problems and changed lanes causing a Toyota Sienna to crash into him.
Both cars caught fire after the crash and Haines' car went off the road and crashed into a concrete median barrier.
I-70 was closed for several hours throughout the entire morning rush.
