CASEYVILLE, Ill. — A man was taken into custody after he drove away from a traffic stop then tried to disguise himself to get his car out of an impound lot.
Police said they pulled Kelvin Durham over on Friday to conduct a traffic stop. Durham pulled over and gave police his name but then drove off.
Police found his car unoccupied a little later and impounded it.
On Tuesday, Durham went to the police station to try to get his car from the lot. Police said he shaved his head in an attempt to disguise his appearance. Police saw through the disguise and took him into custody.
He was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer.
