MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — A USA Today poll has named a St. Louis area butcher shop as one of the best in the United States.
Bolyard's Meat & Provisions in Maplewood was recently voted as the third-best butcher shop in the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
It was nominated after being submitted by a panel of experts. 10Best editors then narrowed down the submissions before readers could vote for their favorite.
It is St. Louis' only whole animal butcher and is owned by Chris Bolyard, a Culinary Institute of America grad. The butcher shop, located at 2733 Sutton Blvd., opened in 2014.
According to its website, they work with whole animals from local, Missouri farms.
Guests can buy fresh meat, bone stocks, smoked meats, charcuterie items and more. The shop also offers burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and brunch items.
