MAPLEWOOD, Mo. – Maplewood police teamed up with a volunteer search group in an effort to find a woman who has been missing since last week.
Barbara Johnson was reported missing last week by her family. Her son and grandsons went door-to-door this weekend, asking people to keep an eye out for her, and they got some more help on Wednesday.
Police questioned the woman's live-in boyfriend and arrested him for a parole violation. He does have a prior criminal history but is not being held as a suspect in this case, so police are still looking for leads, and searching areas close to Jordan's home.
Ingrid and another woman named LaLa are members of volunteer group St. Louis Search and Rescue: Bring Them Home STL. They started the group to help find missing Berkley woman Monica Sykes.
Ingrid's family was able to reunite with a missing loved one of their own, so she definitely moved by the determination of Monica's mom.
Now, they're helping Charles Martin, who is desperately looking for his mother. She's known for walking around Maplewood and riding Metrolink. Martin says her purse and cell phone were found in the street the morning she went missing. He won't give up the search.
Police and people who live in Maplewood are used to seeing Barbara Jordan walking around. Police last saw her at a bus stop near Steak 'n Shake on Manchester around 5:40 a.m. last Tuesday. Her purse was found about 45 minutes later.
If you know anything about this case, you are asked to call the Maplewood Police Department at 314-645-3000.
