MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — A former Maryland Heights city councilman died Tuesday after the truck he was driving crashed into the back of a Metro Call-A-Ride van.
The Maryland Heights Police Department identified him as Gavin Park. Park, 43, was the councilman for Ward 1 from 2016-2020.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m. on Missouri Route 141 and River Valley Drive.
Metro Transit said no passengers were in the Call-A-Ride van at the time. The van's driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Police did not release further details on what led to the crash.
