ST. LOUIS – The Meat Cutters Union Local 88 rejected an offer Tuesday from the Greater St. Louis Food Employer's Council.
The council is comprised of Schnucks, Dierbergs, and Shop 'n Save. The union has been working under an extension since its previous contract ended March 27.
After rejecting the offer, the union authorized its leadership to set a strike vote, but it has not yet happened.
More talks are scheduled next week.
