MetroLink service restored after train strikes person late Sunday in St. Louis

MetroLink operations resumed shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

ST. LOUIS — A person was hit by a MetroLink train late Sunday night in St. Louis.

According to Bi-State Development, a trespasser was struck before midnight Sunday at the right-of-way between the Wellston and Forest Park-DeBaliviere stations. 

Service was temporarily suspended between the stations at about 11:30 p.m., and train passengers were instead transported by shuttle, according to an announcement from the public transportation service.

Normal MetroLink operations resumed at about 12:45 a.m. Monday.

As of Monday morning, there was no word on whether the person struck suffered any injuries.
