GLENDALE, Mo. — A Missouri American Water crew is working through the night to repair a broken water main in Glendale, Missouri.

According to a notice sent to customers, Missouri American Water said the main broke at about 11:30 p.m. under North Sappington Road. Crews were on the scene shortly after the break was reported, and the repair is expected to take about 12 hours.

Missouri American Water said customers in the area may experience low water pressure, but the company did not say the customers needed to boil water before cooking or drinking.

There are about a couple dozen homes or buildings in the area affected by the break, including North Glendale Elementary School.

Missouri American Water said customers may experience discolored water after service is restored. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear.
