AFFTON, Mo. — This Valentine’s day, some gun owners are shooting for a date night like never before. Sharp Shooter Indoor Range and Sharp Shooter Pit and Grill are the first hosts of a Valentine’s Day event at an indoor gun range in the entire Midwest.
On Feb. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the range and restaurant are offering a dinner followed by a shoot.
“This is just the latest example of how our dynamic staff strives to expand the bounds of what is typically expected today,” said a Sharp Shooter Indoor Range representative.
But would you and your significant other feel comfortable firing off some rounds? Sharp Shooter Indoor Range believes that due to a growth in firearm popularity among women in recent years, more couples would be likely to answer yes.
A study on female gun owners by the National Shooting Sports Foundation reports that more than half of women participating in the study said they intend to purchase at least one firearm in the next year. The study also shows that women represent the fastest growing segment of shooting sports.
“The women’s market is a force in our industry, and manufacturers, retailers and shooting ranges are making changes to their products and services to satisfy women’s tastes and needs,” said Jim Curcuruto, NSSF Director of Industry Research and Analysis.
The NSSF is the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry. This study has helped develop understanding on how to make firearms, accessories, and shooting activities appeal to women.
To add even more appeal, Sharp Shooter Indoor Range provides a relaxed educational approach to teach gun safety to all ages.
This locally family owned and operated business hopes that recent changes in attitudes towards firearms makes couples switch their sights from dinner and dessert to dinner and shooting.
Sharp Shooter Indoor Range and Sharp Shooter Pit and Grill are located at 8135 Gravois Road in Affton Missouri, 63123.
