GLENDALE, Mo. — A St. Louis County elementary school is dismissing students early after a nearby water main broke Wednesday morning.
According to a spokeswoman with Missouri American Water, the water main broke near the intersection of West Lockwood Avenue and North Sappington Road in Glendale. The main that broke was either 20 or 24 inches.
Hough Elementary School, which is located at the same intersection where the break occurred, will be dismissing students early due to the break, the Missouri American Water spokeswoman said.
Crews are on the scene working to repair the break. No timeline for the repair has been provided.
A notification on the Missouri American Water website said some customers in the area may experience low or no water pressure.
