JENNINGS, Mo. — A man was fatally shot Monday night in Jennings, a Tuesday morning written statement from the St. Louis County Police Department said.
Officers from the police department's precinct in Jennings rushed to the scene of a reported shooting in the 5300 block of Fletcher Street around 8:45 p.m.
They found a man wounded by gunfire in a driveway. The victim was rushed to a hospital for emergency life-saving treatment, but he later died.
Police identified him Tuesday afternoon as Darryl Mischeaux, 36, of Jennings.
Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons were assigned to the case. Police shared no other information.

The shooting happened less than 2 miles away from the scene where a man was found fatally shot in a car Monday night in St. Louis City.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers were responding to a shooting call in the Walnut Park East neighborhood around 8:11 p.m.
They found the victim, who was shot in the head, near Harney and Davison Avenues. Detectives with SLMPD's Homicide Division have been assigned to the case. A white van was towed from the scene around 10:15 p.m.
