Motorcyclist dies after riding off I-270, crashing into car on Pershall Road

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Pershall Road near South New Florissant Road at about 8 p.m.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man died after he crashed his motorcycle into a car after riding off Interstate 270 in north St. Louis County Monday night.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Pershall Road near South New Florissant Road at about 8 p.m. The motorcyclist killed in the crash was identified as 21-year-old Alec Vahle.

The crash report said Vahle was riding his 2024 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle on the eastbound lanes of I-270. The report said he merged from a middle lane of the highway to the right before traveling off the side of the highway and onto Pershall Road. He struck the side of a vehicle on the road and was thrown off his motorcycle.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The vehicle that his motorcycle struck sustained moderate damage, and the driver was not injured.
