Motorcyclist killed in crash Monday on Lindbergh Boulevard

A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into the back of an SUV at South Lindbergh Boulevard and Deacon Drive.

HUNTLEIGH, Mo. — One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and car Monday evening in St. Louis County.

The crash happened at around 8 p.m. at South Lindbergh Boulevard and Deacon Drive, in the small community of Huntleigh.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two motorcyclists were traveling in Lane 1 of northbound South Lindbergh Boulevard when an SUV turned left and merged into the northbound lane. One of the motorcycles struck the back of the SUV and overturned, and the other struck the crashed motorcycle and overturned.

The motorcyclist who struck the SUV, identified as 22-year-old Dominic Buchholz of Maryland Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSHP. The driver of the SUV, a 70-year-old man from St. Louis, suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

As authorities investigated the crash, Northbound Lindbergh Boulevard was closed to traffic at Squires Lane. It reopened at about 11:30 p.m.
