ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A chilly morning didn't stop a ribbon cutting in St. Charles County Saturday.
Two new pedestrian bridges are now officially open. It's all part of the Centennial Greenway Extension Project.
The bridges span highways 364 and 94.
The ribbon cutting was followed by an outdoor celebration. There was a parade, music and bike rentals.
Organizers said their goal is to connect different parts of the bi-state.
The $5 million project is funded by the "Great Rivers Greenway Co-Op."
Funding for the sales tax initiative was approved by area voters in 2000 and 2013.
