WENTZVILLE, Mo. -- Wentzville citizens took their concerns about a newly-elected member of the school board to the current school board Thursday.

Michael Feinstein was convicted 11 years ago for stealing more than $100,000 from a nonprofit health foundation he worked with in Iowa.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison but spent just one month behind bars.

Feinstein didn't talk about the conviction during his campaign, but says he was honest when confronted about it before the election.

"Deceiving the voters is lying to the voters and that's not what our founding fathers had in mind with politics and our children's lives at stake," said Wentzville resident Scott Brown.

Feinstein says he stole the money to pay off gambling debts. He also says he still attends support group meetings for his gambling addiction and has learned from his mistakes.

He is expected to be sworn in on April 21st.
