No kids were on board school bus that caught fire in St. Charles; minor injuries

The crash near Zumbehl Road created a fire that spread to a school bus.

ST CHARLES, Mo. — A two-car crash in St. Charles led to minor injuries around 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

A school bus and a passenger car were involved in a crash on Highway 70 near Zumbehl Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the passenger car caught fire, which spread to the bus. As a result, commuters in the area witnessed a thick cloud of smoke in the air. 

State police confirmed that no students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Central County Fire and Rescue said both drivers were able to exit the vehicles and were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The fire was quickly extinguished.
