ST. LOUIS — A single-vehicle crash left a man dead Monday afternoon in north St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 6500 block of Hall Street. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound when it drove off the left side of the roadway, across the southbound lanes of Hall Street and into a chain-link fence before catching fire.
The St. Louis Fire Department crews were at the scene and tried to extract the man trapped inside the flaming pickup truck.
Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Accident Reconstruction was requested.
No other details were available about the victim.
