The Lewis and Clark Community College men's soccer team will honor a former player — fallen St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder — in its final home game Saturday.

The Lewis and Clark Trailblazers will hold a brief ceremony and special presentation to Snyder's family at 3 .pm. before the team takes the field Saturday. The game will be held on the soccer field at the school's Godfrey, Illinois, campus, a press release from the school said.

Snyder graduated form the school in 2003, and played for the soccer team from 2001 to 2003.

The team will be accepting donations to Backstoppers during the game, and anyone donating more than $10 will receive a "Snyder 11" t-shirt.

Officer Snyder's father Dick Snyder started as an associate professor of biology at the school in the 1970s before rising all the way to Dean of Allied Health, Mathematics and Science at the school before his retirement in 2005. Snyder's brother also attended and taught at the school.
