ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Located next to the Missouri River and Katy Trail State Park in St. Charles sits the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site.

The building was the first state capitol between 1821 & 1826 while a permanent capitol city in Jefferson City was being planned and developed. The federal-style brick building, located at 200 S. Main Street, was restored between 1961 and 1971.
