ST. LOUIS — 5 On Your Side Anchor Mike Bush and Photojournalist Tom Stasiak have earned two national awards from the Sigma Delta Chi Awards.
Bush and Stasiak won for a “Making a Difference” story in the Television Feature Reporting category, and for a Musial Awards story in the Television Sports Reporting category. The winners were announced Tuesday night.
“This is both a surprise and a huge honor,” said Bush. “What I love most about it is that in both cases we shined a light on kindness. It seems we need that more than ever these days.”

The Sigma Delta Chi Awards date back to 1932 and are awarded by the Society of Professional Journalists. Winners are recognized for outstanding work that was published or broadcast in 2023.
This is the second consecutive year 5 On Your Side has been the recipient of a Delta Sigma Chi Award. Last year, Bush, Stasiak, Scott Suppelsa, and Adam Dew won for a Musial Awards story in the Television Sports Reporting category.
