ST. LOUIS — “Today in St. Louis” multi-skilled journalist Alex Fees has been named the station’s next community impact manager.
Fees first came to 5 On Your Side in 1998 and spent 15 years working in a freelance capacity for all shifts and shows. In 2013, he left news to work in education, serving in communications roles for the Mehlville and Rockwood school districts.
In 2020, Fees returned to his hometown station and for the past year has been reporting full time for “Today in St. Louis.”
As community impact manager, Fees will coordinate the planning and execution of station initiatives, monitoring and amplifying conversations around our brand across platforms. He will also take the lead on producing long-form marketing projects.
“I’m excited for a new opportunity to partner with and advocate for the community organizations working so hard to make a positive impact in St. Louis,” said Fees. “My hope is that organizations with causes or events think of 5 On Your Side as community partners and reach out to me to discuss their causes and events.”
“Alex has a deep connection to the region through a variety of news and non-news marketing positions in the St. Louis area,” said Marketing Director Bryce Moore. “He’s sure to propel our ‘Focused on You’ brand to the next level.”
Fees is a native of Union, Missouri and earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University. Before coming to 5 On Your Side, he worked at television stations in Iowa and Nebraska.
He will begin his new role in the coming weeks.
