Jennings crash kills pedestrian Saturday

JENNINGS, Mo. — A pedestrian died after he was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Jennings, a police spokesperson said Sunday morning.

A vehicle fatally struck the victim, a man, on Jennings Station Road near McClaren Avenue around 5 p.m., according to a statement from the St. Louis County Police Department..

Officers assigned to St. Louis County Police's Jennings Precinct arrived at the scene of the crash at 5:26 p.m. after a caller reported a crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers found the victim before he was taken to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

"The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police," the police statement said.

Detectives with the police department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction are handling the investigation.
