ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A pedestrian was fatally struck Friday night on Interstate 270 in north St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on eastbound I-270 just west of New Florissant Road in Florissant.
According to an MSHP crash report, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound on I-270 when it struck a man in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified as Christopher Brandel, 29, of St. Louis.
Several lanes were blocked as authorities investigated the crash but have since reopened.
