ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Fire Department rescued a woman from a house fire in St. Louis’ Kingsway West neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the 5200 block of Theodosia around 11:30 a.m. for a two-story house fire.

Fire investigators told 5 On Your Side at the scene they believe people who are homeless were inside the vacant house. They were trying to keep warm when a fire started, fire officials said. They're still investigating exactly how the fire started.

While responding to the house, firefighters rescued a woman who was still inside. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
