Police find man killed by gun fire while responding to suspicious vehicle

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Officers investigating reports of a suspicious vehicle in Moline Acres found a man killed by gunfire Monday morning.

The officers, with the Moline Acres Police Department, found the man around 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 near Hollis and Edgefield Drives. He was later identified as 55-year-old Stacy Durham of St. Louis.

Information from the crime scene and an autopsy helped investigators determine that the victim was killed by gunfire, a written statement from police said.

The Moline Acres Police Department requested assistance from the St. Louis County Police Department. The St. Louis County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons Bureau has taken on the investigation.

Police shared no other information.
