Police respond to two fatal crashes Sunday in St. Louis

Each of the two crashes involved a single vehicle. The drivers in both crashes died.

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating two fatal crashes Sunday morning. The crashes were not related.

Each of the two crashes involved a single vehicle. The drivers in both crashes died.

The first crash happened around 3 a.m. in South St. Louis. The second crash occurred in north St. Louis around 5 a.m.

The South City crash happened at Germania and Sharp Avenues— about half a mile north of Interstate Highway 55, a brief report from SLMPD said.

The crash happened near the Halls Ferry traffic circle, where Halls Ferry Road, Goodfellow Boulevard and Riverview Boulevard meet.

SLMPD's Accident Reconstruction investigators are investigating the crashes.

Both drivers died at the crash scenes.

While no description was shared for the driver who died in the South City crash, the driver who died in the north St. Louis crash was described by police as a Black woman.
