FENTON, Mo. -- Hundreds of people are in the dark in Fenton after a car slammed into a power pole.
It happened in the 1700 block of Hawkins, near Rockwood Summit High School, around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Ameren says the car took out a feeder line, which they won't be able to fix until the morning. Hawkins Road will be closed until crews make those repairs.
Initially, about 1,800 were without power, but that number has been reduced to about 200.
The driver of the car was not seriously hurt.
