ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — It’s official, there’s no more ‘Rams Way’ street sign in the St. Louis area.
On Nov. 1, the St. Louis County Department of Public Works took down the street signs for Rams Way in Earth City.
The new name for the road is ‘Athletic Drive.’
The street sign used to be adjacent to the former St. Louis Rams football practice facility.
The old Rams Park practice facility – now used by Lou Fusz Athletic's soccer and lacrosse teams and the region's new XFL football team, the St. Louis BattleHawks – is owned by The Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority.
"Although we heard many creative ideas for what it should be called, Athletic Drive seems to be the most fitting name for the road," County Executive Page said.
"I support the move. It's appropriate," said James F. Shrewsbury, chairman of The Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority board. "We are focused on generating buzz for our new XFL team, our new Major League Soccer team and stadium, and cheering on our Stanley Cup-winning Blues."
