Report: High speed contributed to fatal Wildwood accident

A new report from the St. Louis County Police Department showed high speeds and alcohol were the main culprits in a fatal accident that happened in Wildwood in August.

WILDWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) - A new report from the St. Louis County Police Department showed high speed was the main culprit in a fatal accident that happened in Wildwood in August.

According to the report, 18-year-old Christopher Lenzen was driving approximately 68 miles per hour in a 25 mile an hour zone when his car left the roadway, struck the deck of a home, and went into the woods. Lenzen died in the crash, along with two girls: 18-year-old Lauren Oliver and her sister, 17-year-old Kathleen Oliver. A fourth passenger sustained injuries but survived.

According to the report, Lenzen had a blood alcohol level of .014, which is below the legal limit for those over 21 and for minors.
