ST. LOUIS — The Saint Louis Zoo has put in place new security measures this fall in an effort to make guests feel safer.
A new security screening system called the Evolv system is at both the North and South entrances to detect concealed weapons as guests enter, according to the zoo's website. It's a system already in place at more than 800 schools, hospitals, stadiums and venues worldwide, including at St. Louis CITY SC's CityPark and Mercy hospitals.
Guests with large bags, strollers, wagons, coolers, wheelchairs, backpacks and purses may also be subject to a bag search after passing through the automatic detection system, according to the zoo's website.
While visiting, you may also see explosives and weapons detection dog Speedy patrolling the zoo grounds.
