Schnucks recalls cake over nut danger

Schnucks Bakery has issued a recall for a baked good topped with nuts.
Pecans are the cause of a Schnucks recall.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Schnucks Bakery has issued a recall for a baked good topped with nuts, according to Schnucks spokesperson Lori Willis.

A devil's food cake decorate with pecans has been recalled and those with a pecan allergy are at risk, Willis said.

Pecans can be seen on the cake, but the nut was not listed on the ingredient label.

The cakes have been sold at all stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.

Customers should look for the 8-inch devil's food cake as well as the half devil's food cake.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the food.

Schnucks will offer a full refund to customers who might have purchased the product.
