SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. — Officials found no explosive device at Scott Air Force Base after a working dog alerted personnel during a vehicle search, base officials told 5 On Your Side.
The original alert happened at around 9 a.m. when a working dog alerted officials at the base's Commerical Vehicle Inspection Gate, commonly referred to as the Mascoutah Gate, officials said.
"The Explosive Ordinance Disposal response to the Mascoutah Gate has terminated with negative findings," officials said. "Thank you for your patience!"
Multiple personnel at the base told 5 On Your Side that the lockdown has ended and officials have returned to their normal duties.
