ST. PETERS, Mo. — A pedestrian was killed early Monday morning after being struck by a semitruck on Interstate 70 in St. Peters.
It happened at about 3 a.m. Monday on eastbound I-70 at Mid Rivers Drive, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A man was walking in Lane 2, and a semitruck driver who was driving in Lane 2 swerved left to avoid hitting the pedestrian but still hit him.
The man, 23-year-old Connor Lipp of Winfield, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the MSHP.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, four right lanes were closed as crews investigated. The crash was cleared and all lanes were reopened at about 6 a.m.
