Missouri First Lady Sheena Greitens in a short Friday speech did not address a weekslong controversy surrounding her husband, Gov. Eric Greitens, but touted his administration for appointing women to eight of 13 cabinet posts.
“There are more women serving in cabinet positions in Eric’s administration than in any other administration in Missouri’s history,” said Sheena Greitens, who opened the St. Louis Business Journal’s Women’s Conference. She received a standing ovation prior to speaking.
“We all know that the gender gap in public leadership is a serious issue,” Sheena Greitens said. “Women are shaping public policy and leading public policy.”
She also discussed her public initiatives, including improving foster care and child services. Sheena Greitens’ younger sister was adopted from South Korea.
