Hearing sirens in St. Louis this morning? Don't worry, it's just a test

In an alert sent by the city's NotifySTL system, the city said it would be testing the outdoor warning system between 8 a.m. and noon.

ST. LOUIS — If you are hearing emergency sirens in the City of St. Louis on Thursday morning, there is no cause for alarm.

In a notification sent by the city's NotifySTL system, the city said it would be testing the outdoor warning system between 8 a.m. and noon.

"The City Emergency Management Agency will test its Outdoor Warning System today, Thursday, July 11, 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. This is only a test," the notification said. "Sirens may be activated several times during the morning hours. We apologize for any inconvenience. Once again, the sirens this morning are only a test."
