More than 200 St. Louis area restaurants sacrificed profits tonight to support the family of Officer Blake Snyder.

The Ballwin officer was shot and killed in the line of duty last month.

Big Chief's is just one of the many restaurants participating here tonight and it was a packed house here. Tonight, 100 percent of the profits are going to Elizabeth Snyder and her son Malachi.

"It's our duty to give, and the more you give the more you receive," said Stephanie Mulholland, co-owner of Big Chief.

That was the message for Ballwin Restaurant Big Chief Tuesday night.

Hundreds poured in to enjoy a hardy meal, and to give back for a great cause.

"It's unbelievable to see the community come out and unite," Mulholland said.

Big Chief is just one of 200 restaurants participating in Dine out night - a massive fundraiser for the family of Officer Blake Snyder The St. Louis county officer was killed in the line of duty last month - leaving behind a wife and 2-year-old son.

"I had chicken quesedilla and it was excellent," said one diner.

But donations weren't limited to items on the menu.

"We did buy a T-shirt, yeah we have a T-shirt for our son"

About 20 minutes away, Another participating restaurant, Kriegers, also offered raffle drawings and silent auctions

"I know if it were me, they'd be doing this for me as well, and my family," said Vince Bazzoni, a police officer with the west county precinct.

Dozens of officers like Vince Bazzoni took off their badges for a moment to help staffers serve and bust tables

"I'm happy that we're able to do something like this for the family," said Sergeant Jim Molden of the St. Louis County Police Department, "and as you can see from the crowd, we've got some great community support here tonight"

As for how much money has been raised for tonight's dining out event, we don't have any totals just yet, but the owner here at Big Chief tells me their goal for tonight is $30,000.
