ST. LOUIS — A teenager was killed and four others were injured late Monday night in a south St. Louis crash.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the deadly single-car crash happed at about 11:20 p.m. Monday at the intersection of River Des Peres Boulevard and Olde English Road. Police said a 19-year-old woman was driving northbound on River Des Peres when her Toyota Corolla traveled off the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire.
A 15-year-old boy who was a passenger in the front seat was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver and three backseat passengers - a 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and another boy whose age wasn't shared - were taken to area hospitals for treatment, police said. The passengers were all critically injured.
Accident Reconstruction assumed the ongoing investigation.
