ST. LOUIS — The largest operating airline at St. Louis Lambert International Airport will offer three new destinations starting next summer.
Southwest Airlines will offer daily flights to Hollywood Burbank Airport and weekly flights to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and Norfolk International Airport. The new flights to Burbank will begin on June 4, and the first flights to the other two destinations will be on June 8.
“Burbank being a fourth market into the southern California region is great news for our travelers,” STL Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge said in a statement. “St. Louis Lambert International Airport can now give our passengers more non-stop options into a very popular destination, southern California.”
Hollywood Burbank Airport is less than 10 miles from some of the most famous tourist destinations in Hollywood and about 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is about an hour's drive from the Hilton Head Island resort area.
With the added departures, Southwest will have 886 scheduled flights per week. That will be the most scheduled weekly flights out of St. Louis Lambert International Airport of any airline since Southwest offered 897 in June of 2011.
According to a St. Louis Business Journal report last month, Air Canada said it will add a nonstop flight next spring to Montreal from St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
Lambert will have nonstop service to Montreal starting May 2, 2024, Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge confirmed Friday in an email to the Business Journal.
