ST CHARLES, Mo. — A beloved wine and cheese bar in St. Charles will close at the end of this week as the spot transitions the spot into a "new type of store."

Cork & Rind's team announced the temporary closure starting Aug. 10 on their Facebook page on Friday but shared a little more details about what the transition will look like on Monday.

"If you have not signed up with our email list, which will provide you with updates as we transition into a 'new type of store,' please do so," the team posted on Facebook. "We WILL NOT be moving locations. Our address & the St Charles Community our our HOME! So stay tuned & help cheer our new adventures on!"

The bar has been part of the St. Charles community for nearly nine years but will be taking a break to pivot to the new storefront. Patrons of the store were asked to stop by during the spot's summer sale to help workers move inventory in preparation for the transition.

Cork & Rind will be open this week from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, 1-9 p.m.Thursday and Friday and from 1-7 p.m. Saturday.

"You elevated St. Charles and it has been a privilege being a customer throughout the years," patron Timothy Nordmann commented on the bar's initial post. "Thank you for sharing your passion with St. Charles for the past 9 years. You will be missed and we will patiently await the possibility of your return. Sincerely, all of St. Charles."
