ST. LOUIS — A dog is now safe at a St. Louis animal shelter after rescuers say it was dumped on a sidewalk Tuesday.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis has a new tenant. The rescue posted a video of a dog with a caption saying the pup had been dumped there.
"Our mail carrier just witnessed this dog get pushed out of a car down the street from our shelter," the post read. "Dumped out in the rain, but we got you now, sweet baby muffin girl."
The rescue then requested that people help foster a dog.
The video showed a large, lone dog pacing on a leaf-covered sidewalk near 23rd and Olive streets. Two people approached the dog and gently pet its head. The dog cowered and cried as they put a lead around its head.
Little else was known about the tan dog.
