ST. LOUIS — No surprise here! St. Louis made the list for ‘best city for baseball fans.’
WalletHub ranked 2019’s best baseball cities. Overall, St. Louis took the third spot. New York took the top spot and Los Angeles came in second.
WalletHub compared 361 of the most populated U.S. cities based on 31 key metrics. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for baseball fans. They chose cities with at least one Major League Baseball (MLB), Minor League Baseball (MiLB) or college baseball (NCAA) team.
St. Louis came in the top spot for ‘most engaged MLB fans’ and second for the most accessible MLB stadium.
According to the St. Louis Business Journal, this year marks the 16th consecutive season and 23rd all-time that the Cardinals have drawn more than 3 million fans at Busch Stadium. That ranks second in Major League Baseball, trailing only the Dodgers’ home attendance of 3.97 million. The New York Yankees were third in MLB and tops in the American League with total attendance of 3.3 million at Yankee Stadium.
