St. Louis County 911 system down, calls being routed to St. Louis

All 911 and non-emergency calls were being routed to St. Louis and would still be answered, police said.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — St. Louis County 911 calls were being routed to the city of St. Louis Thursday evening as the county dealt with an outage of its 911 system.

The St. Louis County Police Department announced at around 8:30 p.m. that both its 911 system and non-emergency phone lines were down and that it was working with the provider to restore service as soon as possible.

As of 9:20 p.m., non-emergency lines were once again operational, while 911 lines were still down.

911 calls were being routed to St. Louis and would still be answered, police said. 

Anyone with non-emergencies were encouraged to contact either their local police department or their county precinct directly.

Police provided a list of county precinct numbers for non-emergencies.

An estimate on when service would be restored was not provided.
