Want the chance to camp near elk and bison? Check out this event

The fun will include canoeing, a night hike, archery, learning about the environment, roasting marshmallows and more.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Want the chance to camp near some elk and bison in St. Louis County? Your chance to do just that is coming up soon!

St. Louis County Parks is hosting a "Night in the Wild" in Lone Elk Park April 30-May 1. Anyone is welcome, including families, friends, scouts and church groups, according to the event's page on Facebook.

The fun will include canoeing, a night hike, archery, learning about the environment, roasting marshmallows and more.

You will need to bring your own camping gear, dinner and breakfast.

The event is $15 per person. You will need to register in advance for the overnight event. You can do so by calling 314-615-8822.

Check-in will be between 2-3 p.m. Saturday, April 30. And check-out will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 1.

Lone Elk Park is located at 1 Lone Elk Park Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63088. Lone Elk Park is home to bison, wild turkey, waterfowl, elk and deer, according to the county park's website.
