St. Louis man shown on Facebook lying on ground is dead

Police are investigating this death as a homicide.

ST. LOUIS — A man was found dead Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to a "Life Status Unknown" call Friday morning around 8:50 a.m. in the 5200 block of South Grand Boulevard. When firefighters arrived the unidentified man was on the ground, St. Louis Fire Captain Garon Mosby said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A picture of the unidentified man lying on the ground has been circulating on Facebook since Friday morning.

 5 On Your Side was told by Real Time Crime Center that there were gunshot wounds on the victim's body, a day after his body was found. 

The cause of death is unknown.
