ST. LOUIS — Homicide detectives are investigating a crime scene in the Walnut Park East neighborhood after a man was found burned to death, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The victim, whose identity police have yet to release, was found after officers responded to the scene near the 4900 block of Thrush after a shots-fired call at about 10 p.m. Tuesday. That call was followed by another report of a supposed sudden death.
The victim was reportedly set on fire and extinguished by fire officials before police arrived at the scene, the department said. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The city's medical examiner is working to determine the official cause of death.
