ST. LOUIS - A standoff in south St. Louis has ended after more than five hours.
Officers say 57-year-old Anthony Yanko was armed inside a garage and refused to come out. It happened in the Benton Park neighborhood near the Anheuser-Busch brewery.
During the standoff, Yanko's girlfriend was able to exit the garage unharmed.
At one point, Yanko fired a shot toward an officer, but the officer was not hit and was not hurt.
Police say Yanko has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
