You'll need to bundle up if you'd like to welcome the official start of winter at the Cahokia Mounds.
The winter solstice sunrise observance will take place at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Woodhenge site just west of Monks Mound. Guests can participate in a discussion and discovery about the significance of the site.
