ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis Zoo has been named one of the best zoos in the world by TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice, which ranks zoos throughout the world.
In the United States, Saint Louis Zoo ranks third, beaten only by Henry Doorly Zoo in Nebraska and San Diego Zoo in California. Worldwide, Saint Louis Zoo places fourth, beaten by Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, Spain; San Diego Zoo; and Henry Doorly Zoo, which takes top honors worldwide.
Travelers' Choice based the rankings on reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers and used an algorithm that considers quantity and quality of the reviews over 12 months.
TripAdvisor also ranked aquariums, and Monterey Bay Aquarium in California topped both the U.S. and worldwide lists.
