ST. LOUIS — After seven and a half years of business on Cherokee Street, Teatopia will permanently close its doors this weekend, the café announced on Thursday.

According to an announcement on Instagram, Teatopia will close its location at 2606 Cherokee St. on Sunday, June 23. The business opened back in 2017, offering a large tea menu, smoothies, salads and other food items.

In 2023, the café was ranked No. 3 in USA Today's top 100 budget eats in the U.S., ranking behind Tacos 19 in Miami and Mickey's Subs in Tampa. It was one of only five restaurants in the rankings with a perfect five-star rating on Google.

Despite the closure, the business will continue its e-commerce and wholesale business, so customers will still be able to purchase loose-leaf tea and wares from the Teatopia website, according to the closing announcement. A new website will also be launching soon.

"We are deeply grateful for the trust and support you have shown us throughout the years," the post said. "Your loyalty has meant the world to us, and it has been an honor to serve you … We regret any inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time."

Teatopia will host a "last hurrah" party from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday featuring music from local DJ Blvck Spvde.
