ST. LOUIS — A teenage boy was shot and injured in south St. Louis Monday afternoon, police said.
The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. Monday in the 3600 block of Meramec Avenue in south St. Louis' Dutchtown neighborhood.
According to the latest incident report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, responding officers found a 17-year-old boy shot and injured with a gunshot wound in the leg. He was reportedly conscious and breathing. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Preliminary information from the victim revealed the teen was exiting his vehicle when an unknown suspect fired shots at him, police said.
The investigation was ongoing Tuesday.
